Faith: Psalm 76     Winter 1976

With your strong arm you redeemed me.
The waters saw you, Oh God.
           The waters saw you and
           shuttered; the very depths
           of me were troubled.

My eyes poured down water.
My throat gave forth its cries.

Your arrows sped about me.
Your force and strength resounded
in my confusion, in that madness.

Your light illuminated my world
           and gave me insight.
My world quivered and quaked.

Through the sea was your way
and your path through the deep waters.
You worked your wonders through
           me Lord.

You came to my aid from within,
Although I did not see Your way.

You led me, like a sheep
           Prodding on, following
           Your signs.
