Take Me to You

Take me to you, Almighty God, and deliver my soul from temporal
despair. Without You, Lord, I am nothing but a spirit crushed beneath
the boot of the World. Come, break, blow, burn and make me new. No
other force has a resurrecting strength such as Yours.

Daily, as I turn my life and my will over to Your care, I kindle my faith
in Your mercy. Please, Lord, untie or break that knot that binds me to
perdition, and let me feel instead the warmth of Your presence, the
blazing glory of Your cathartic fire.

Oh, Master of the Universe, the World exists at Your command. Pity
the fool who thinks he can turn the wheel on which he turns. Lord,
overthrow me when I am tempted to become that fool myself. Destroy
the life that I try to build alone, as it will only destroy me. Let me
make Your will my own. So that the wheel may turn, let my life be
guided by the power at Your hands.

Although I am often weak and untrue, and my reason is cluttered with
doubt, You are there Lord, to rectify, sanctify and soothe. Always in
my darkest hour do I find Your healing light. I must learn to give my
life to the Law of God, above the Law of Man, as You are more
constant, forgiving and fulfilling than all of humankind.

So come and be my restoration. Knock, breath, shine and seek to mend
my broken soul. I depend on You wholly, Dearest Spirit, for You are my
only security.
